Video: The Making Of…

It’s difficult to describe the energy that is stirred when musicians collaborate in the studio.

You begin with an idea, a lyric, a chord progression, then suddenly something clicks and you literally watch the project go from a splatter of ideas, to a beautiful piece of audio artwork.

Digital recording makes it possible to actually see these amazing sound waves on screen as they are recorded. It truly is amazing to consider how this synthesis of various instrument parts and voices so congenially forms music that captures the ear and, if the artists are so blessed, deeply stirs the emotions of the listeners.

For the artists, all the technological hiccups, wrong notes, long hours, and tired hands and voices along the way are just part of the process. It’s the laughter, the “ah-ha!” moments, and the pure joy in expressing yourself through music, that always calls us back for more.

All that said, here’s a quick peek into the studio and the making of Dark Is Light. Many hands and hearts went into this project, for which I am truly blessed and grateful!
